I am a 36 year employee of AEP, Appalachian Power, Roanoke District. I am currently the Customer Design Supervisor with 23 technical employees, serving a customer base of 250,000 plus customers. Having worked in the Information Services Group early on in my career and since 1981 in the engineering field in various assignments, my background is well suited for my current role. During my tenure, I have been given many opportunities in various areas such as training and development of employees and employee teams, both locally and throughout our system. One unique opportunity was centered around the AEP / CSW Merger which was consummated in June 2000. I served as a Merger Team Coach for Transmission Services and Operations. Working with various teams through facilitation and process improvements opportunities has been both challenging and very rewarding in my professional and personal life.

I am a graduate of Virginia Western Community College with an Associate in General Studies as well as diploma completion from Intext Communication Systems in Engineering.

Currently, I serve as District 1 Representative on the Economic Development Board for Bedford County, which has been a very different challenge and tremendous learning experience. My extended opportunities in this area are centered around also serving as a member of the Long Range Planning Committee for Bedford County.

Since February 2006, I have served in the Virginia Chapter of WINUP, as a charter member. During the first two years, Chapter Chair; third year as Past President and currently serving as International Secretary. I have attended three international conferences, serving as Co-Chair to the 2008 Conference held in Roanoke, Virginia.

I am blessed to be married to Ronnie for 38 years with two children, one daughter-in-law, twin grandsons and a granddaughter. I attend ParkWay Weslyan Church in Roanoke, Virginia. My hobbies include having a second job as a National Sales Leader for Longaberger Baskets with 140 associates in my success line, water sports on Smith Mountain Lake, attending bible studies by Beth Moore and most of all, my family.
