Michelle Kinds is the Manager of Facilities and Workplace Services at American Electric Power (AEP). A 22 year veteran her career began in 1987 in the Customer Services Department where she was responsible for customer billing, complaints, and general office administration. In 1999, Michelle moved to Columbus and joined the IT department and moved into the role of Infrastructure Coordinator. Michelle joined Environmental, Safety, Health and Facilities in 2003 and currently leads a team of individuals that are responsible for an array of activities which include overseeing AEP's Food Services Program and the Facilities Management of AEP?s headquarters located in downtown Columbus.
Michelle holds a Bachelor of Science in Business from Ashland University and is a certified Facilities Management Professional (FMP).
Michelle has been a member of WiNUP for 13 years. She as had various positions in the local chapter including Chapter President. She is currently the Ohio Chapter President Emeritus for the Women's International Network of Utility Professionals. Other affiliations are board member for the Columbus Chapter of the American Association of Blacks in Energy and a member of New Covenant Believers Church. She also supports activities associated with United Way, The Women's Fund of Central Ohio and African American Male Wellness.
Michelle is married, has one daughter and a grandson. She likes to listen to all kinds of music, travel, swim and watch movies. Her favorite color is burgundy.
