Lila Munsey Lila has been employed by American Electric Power since June 1978 and held various positions on the regulated side of the business. As a Civil Engineer in the Hydroelectric Department in Roanoke, Virginia, she designed and maintained structural analysis programs for AEP's nine run-of-the-river dams in Virginia and West Virginia and later assisted in the construction and testing of the Unit #3 addition to Smith Mountain pumped storage project. In 1985, Lila was transferred to AEP's headquarters in Columbus and is currently Senior Regulatory Consultant in AEP's Regulated Tariffs Department where she prepares cost-of-service and rate design analyses for AEP's eleven operating companies, supplies expert testimony and filings for Federal and State regulatory commissions' rate regulation cases, assists in determining AEP's position and negotiations within Working Groups of the four Regional Transmission Organizations in which AEP operates, and works with other departments in preparation of financial, budget, transmission revenue, and planning analysis as requested. She has served AEP as a facilitator for operations improvement programs, performed as Louie the Lightning Bug, and accompanist for the Appalachian Chorus, a group of AEP personnel who prepared and performed musical programs for residents of retirement villages and nursing homes. Lila graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and later completed an MBA at The Ohio State University. She is a Registered Professional Engineer in the Commonwealth of Virginia and the State of Ohio, has served as Secretary for the Roanoke Chapter of Professional Engineers, as well as a member of the Order of the Engineer. Lila joined WiNUP (Ohio Chapter) in 1997, worked on the 2005 Conference Planning Committee, particularly as Chair of the Decorations Committee. She served as the 2007 Ohio Chapter Chair and as the 2007 and 2008 International Treasurer. Lila is very active at East Columbus Christian Church, as Service Pianist and Organist, General and Executive Board Secretary, Deaconess Vice-Chair, choir member, and food pantry worker. She has served in various community roles including Girl Scout Service Unit Manager, Registrar and as a Troop Leader for 11 years. Lila lives in Columbus with her husband Mikel, her daughter Sarita, Sapphire their cat, and 3 Bettas. She enjoys working with people and making work fun.
