ALaT Spring Professional Development Event - Deadline May 1st

About this event

You are invited to attend the DISC Communication and Workplace Effectiveness Workshop, an interactive, in-person learning experience focused on improving communication, collaboration, and workplace effectiveness.

This workshop is provided through Training and Consulting Services, which specializes in customized training solutions and coaching programs designed to unlock the untapped potential of individuals and teams. The session focuses on communication, interpersonal relations, and human behavior to support ongoing professional and personal development.

Facilitator
Bruce Arfsten, Certified DISC Facilitator and professional trainer, brings more than 15 years of experience delivering communication and leadership development programs. His approach emphasizes practical, real-world application of behavioral science to help professionals increase clarity, confidence, and effectiveness.

About DISC
The DISC assessment is a personal development learning experience that measures individual preferences and tendencies using the DISC model. It provides a quick, intuitive way to better understand yourself and others through four behavioral styles:

  • D – Dominance
  • I – Influence
  • S – Steadiness
  • C – Conscientiousness

Participants will leave with tools they can immediately apply in:

  • Leadership interactions
  • Peer collaboration
  • Client relationships
  • Day-to-day workplace communication

Learning Objectives
By the end of this session, participants will:

  • Understand the four DISC behavioral styles (D, I, S, C)
  • Identify their own behavioral tendencies and strengths
  • Recognize stress behaviors and communication blind spots
  • Improve their ability to “flex” their communication style
  • Reduce miscommunication and workplace tension
  • Strengthen collaboration and professional influence
