Speaker Bio
Suzanne Snider, is a native of New Lexington, Ohio, and currently lives in Columbus, Ohio with her wife Donna, their Son Baltazar, and their dog Aso. Suzanne holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Otterbein University. She also received her Certified in Risk and Information Security Control (CRISC) and Cyber Intelligence Tradecraft Professional certificates.
She is currently a Security Manager for the Identity and Access Management (IAM) program at American Electric Power. She is responsible for planning, building, delivery and support of the IAM program. Additionally, she collaborates with key stakeholders in multiple business units to provide consultation to assist in developing plans and direction for the integration of information security requirements.
During her 17 years at AEP she has worked in Data Protection and Privacy and multiple information technology projects within various business areas. This broad experience has allowed her to understand many diverse areas of the electric utility industry and the unique security threats it faces.
In addition to her work in cybersecurity and information technology, she was a founding member of the AEP Pride Partnership employee resource group. During her 5 years as chair and co-chair of the group, she collaborated with AEPs office of Diversity and Inclusion to participate in the Human Rights Campaign Corporate Equality Index survey. Her coordination with the group raised AEP's rating from a 15 to a 100, recognizing AEP as one of the Best Places to Work for the LGBTQ Equality.
